Please note: Compa is in private development and has not launched yet. This policy describes our intended practices. We will update it before public launch, and the app will include its own in-app privacy controls.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the waitlist, answer you, and prepare the launch:
- Waitlist: your name, email address, ZIP code, and role (resident, CERT member, organization, agency, or media).
- Contact and pilot forms: your name, email address, and whatever you write to us, plus agency or organization and role for pilot applications.
- Once the app launches: the needs, offers, and updates you choose to post, including your location, so we can match nearby help. You will control what you share.
- Website analytics (only if you accept cookies): Google Analytics records which pages you visit, your approximate location, and device and browser information, so we can improve the site. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How we share information
Your data works for your rescue, not for advertisers. Compa never sells your personal information for advertising or marketing. To coordinate aid, we share the minimum necessary information, such as your location and the needs or offers you post, with vetted emergency-response and government partners under written contract, and only to deliver help and coordinate response.
We do not share your information for any other purpose. Agencies and organizations that work with us control what they share, under the same written terms.
How we use information
- To operate the waitlist and tell you about the launch.
- To respond to your messages and pilot applications.
- To coordinate aid and emergency response with our partners, as described above.
- To improve Compa before and after launch.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete your personal information. Write to hello@compa.help and we will respond within two business days.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, for example running the waitlist until launch, and delete it when you ask us to.
Children's privacy
Compa is intended for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has shared information with us, write to hello@compa.help and we will delete it.
A note about our website forms
Our website forms currently open your own email app to send us your message. That means what you submit travels by email to hello@compa.help, like any email you send. We will add direct, secure form submission before launch and update this policy when we do.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and we will note the new date at the top. Please check back occasionally.
